I want to consider my grandmother. She was an awesome lady who chuckled a great deal. One of the visual things I adored about her was her hair...it was violet-shaded or purple to be accurate.
Back in the days when hair shading was simply advancing, those with silver hair didn't have a lot of decision about shading aside from a wash that shielded their silver hair from turning yellow. So my Grandma utilized this purple flush from time to time that turned her hair a great shade of violet. I cherished it. Particularly when she'd wear a violet-hued dress to chapel and violet smelling cologne, it was a sight and smell to see! What a memory!
A portion of my companions are Grandmas and they are giving me enduring recollections, as well. One of them isn't accepting grandmother hood without a fight. She wears splendid, brilliant garments that are blue-green and pink. She keeps running in long distance races, swims, practices day by day at an exercise center, water skis, and works 12-hour days as a medical caretaker. She's stunning! She's hoping to resign next January and I don't believe she's going to like it. She'll either need to find low maintenance line of work or remain on the treadmill for a more drawn out measure of time just to get her vitality out!
So what recollections would you say you are making that your children and grandchildren will recall? It is safe to say that you are taking them out for unique snacks or picnics and playing senseless games? Is it true that you are concealing their PJs in the cooler when they come to go through the night? Is there a senseless voice you do just for them? Is it true that you are instructing them to play interesting instruments like Boom Whackers? Those sorts of fun things stick in a child's head long after you're gone.
The part I'm paying attention to in my grandma hood is ensuring my grandchildren realize I cherish the Lord with my entire existence and try to serve Him every day. They see me perusing my Bible at the kitchen table with my reverential book. We do commitments together around evening time before we rest. They see another Bible by my bed that I read on the off chance that I wake up in the night and can't rest, and they hear Christian music when they come to visit me. We mood killer the TV once in a while and simply talk. Presently there's another thought! I don't permit iPods or MP3 players turned on in the vehicle so we can talk there, as well. It's astonishing how much landscape they miss and what discussion slips with ear buds latched onto their subconscious minds.
You're their grandparent! God put you in their lives for a particular reason. Make the most of it for Christ and address their issues! Also, one more thing...love their socks off!
